I have only painted in watercolur before trying pastell and have never really thought of tone and temperature being so important before-it is finally now when I have begun my pasteljourney that I have slowly started to grasp the importance of tone and temperature over colour. I have been working on some goats for about 3 years now (?) and still hoping I can get to a place of finish, so I keep looking at yours A LOT! And, LOVE LOVE LOVE your portraits. Soft and vibrant. Re: the crop. I like the vertical crop, since the splashes of color are now balanced, and the vertical feeling of the trees just works. Ive got an Epson 3880 printer and that combination has worked very well for me for years. But IMO, the most important part of a good print is a good image file. I know there are also things like color profiles and modes, but I'm not very knowledgeable about that. The place where you sent your images for printing, maybe they should have told you what settings to save your images or given you a color profile for their printers? IDK. But I like having my printer here at home and the ability to see how things print and make corrections if necessary.Rita Kirkman Daily Paintings and Art Journalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11172625565373258703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6642122524644712733.post-3492568312332441172019-04-16T19:44:41.810-07:002019-04-16T19:44:41.810-07:00Hi Rita, I find your post very helpful. I got prints done by a local shop recently, but on some of my paintings, some of the color and detail was lost. Just curious on what you use, so I can have prints that look closest to my original pastel paintings. Thank you, BrigidAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03514275439253615656noreply@blogger.com
